More information on Museum of Forests (Muzei Lesa)
Russia is one of the world's most forested nations, so this new museum was long overdue. Paintings and natural materials form a range of exhibits illustrating the importance of forests in human civilisation. One very interesting exhibition is dedicated to the famous Russian wooden towns of Kizhi and Valaam. You can find out about the history of the towns and about wooden architecture in general.
