The calm before the band gets going is unsettling here. The student crowd sit around chatting in reflective mood it seems, while the first group runs through its last soundtrack. Then they start playing their rockabilly classics for real and first one and then another couple gets up and starts jiving. The polite hum of the bar is about to become the swinging limbs of a rock and roll club. Soon female legs are acrobatically skimming the ceiling or tripping up beer-laden passers-by. A scene very much unto itself in St Petersburg, Money Honey may have surprised many with its durability; there are plenty of other, far more 'twenty-first century' clubs nearby.
