Technically, its name is 'Oxford Tavern', but everyone in the city knows this little joint by its 'Zoo Bar' moniker, the result of its proximity to the National Zoo. This is a no-nonsense, refreshingly laid-back establishment. Locals enjoy coming here on the weekends to hear live music, on Tuesday, affectionately dubbed 'Pitcher Night', the main attraction is the cheap pitchers of beer. Bass and Guinness flow freely, and the menu offers bar favorites like peel-and-eat shrimp.Takeaway available.
