More information on Frühschoppenkonzert
The village of Igls is a popular ski resort located some 5km from Innsbruck. Although it is better known for its snow than its music, it does host one very interesting musical event. During the summer (Jul-Sept), at 11a every Sunday, an open-air concert takes place in the old school garden behind the tourist office. The musicians come from the surrounding region and the pieces vary according to the whim of the conductor. Keep in mind that the concert is generally cancelled in inclement weather. Admission is free.
