More information on World Cup Ski Jumping
Poland is not a sporting super power in many fields of endeavour, but ski jumping is an exception; every January, the picturesque ski resort town of Zakopane plays host to the stars of the World Cup. Home field advantage has played a part; Adam Malysz, from nearby Wisla, has thrilled the hometown crowd with a victory in the past, while countryman Robert Mateja is a perennial contender. Zakopane is less than three hours south of Krakow by train, making it a perfect weekend getaway. Ticket prices are set in autumn.
