More information on Tourismus-Information Innsbruck
The cave-hall hosting the Innsbruck tourist information is located on the edge of the historic city centre. The site dates back to the 15th century and was attatched to the medieval city wall as the main guard-house. In 1921 it was bought by the city of Innsbruck and adapted to accommodate its administration. Especially remarkable are the 12 color versions on the Breccie column, proof of the continued tradition of painted stone elements. Furthermore, the building also hosts the Innsbruck Information and Ticket Service, the offices of the 'Innsbrucker Festwochen', the Association for the Improvement of the City, a souvenir shop, multimedia info posts and broadband internet access. The Insbruck Ticket Service also offers IVB bus tickets. Furthermore, foreign currencies can be changed and public phone booths also form part of the service.
