Vestskoven is the newest forest in Copenhagen and was planted in 1967. It is located east of Vridsløsemagle and north of Roskildevej. Spread over 1,500 hectares, the area has plains, hills, lakes as well as forests. Since its plantation in 1967, the forest has grown into a deep and rich forest with numerous, huge trees. The manmade hills at Herstedhøje are characteristic of the area and the shapes are inspirational. Around the area, where all the trees are planted in linear rows, rare Scottish cattle and sheep graze. In the middle of the forest, there is a museum dedicated to the famous Danish astronomer, Tycho Brahe.
