St Petersburg isn't short of slightly off-the-wall places to eat, drink and play and Pit-Stop ranks pretty highly among them. Based for the most part on a Formula One theme, Pit-Stop is a bizarre but fun combination of bar, cafe, restaurant and gaming hall. The owners have somehow procured a racing car which sits on the right of the bar/cafe area as you enter, surrounded by three life-size models of racing drivers kitted out in black suit and helmet. Rather pathetic portraits of various formula one drivers hang on the wall and the staff are dressed in yellow "pit-stop" style T-shirts. It gets stranger - through in the games room, which has two good pool tables, various gaming machines and an air-hockey table, the walls are decorated with mock Piccasso drawings merging into cigarette adverts for one of the sponsors. Further, the small restaurant area through the back is decorated in a "space" theme, with astronauts floating on the walls and miniature rockets hanging above each table. Very odd.
