Designated as a World Heritage Site, Independence Hall is a famous United States Landmark that played an important role in the country's history. The Declaration of Independence was adopted and signed here in 1776, declaring that the 13 original colonies were independent of Great Britain. Independence Hall is now part of the Independence National Historical Park, home of the Liberty Bell.
