More information on Luteranskaia Tserkov' Petra (Lutheran Church of St. Peter)
The land was given to the Lutheran Parish by Peter I in 1727 and on it they constructed the Church of St. Peter through the course of 1728-1738. The church which stands today was erected by A. Bryullov. His design implemented a new system of construction which appeared interesting, but has proven to be intensely problematic. A noteworthy aspect is the sculpture of the apostles made in Italian Carrara marble and erected in 1838 by Trescorni.
