Bus line number 1 runs as public transport. However, on its route the bus passes some of the most important places in Copenhagen. It goes between Rødovre Station—in a suburb town southwest of Copenhagen—and Ryparken on Østerbro, the part of Copenhagen north of Søerne (the Lakes). In between, it passes Hovedbanegården (the Central Station), Christiansborg (where the Parliament sits), Kongens Nytorv (the King's New Square), and Østerport Station, an important traffic junction. In other words traveling by the bus is a sightseeing tour. Tickets for the ride can be bought on the bus, but punch tickets can only be bought at DSB stations. They are also available at some supermarkets and petrol stations.
