Shoot for the moon, discover black holes, and travel in time - there's plenty to discover at the Adler Planetarium & Astronomy Museum, the first Planetarium in the Western Hemisphere. Located alongside the Field Museum and Shedd Aquarium in Chicago's Museum Campus, the Aldler offers two full-size planetarium theaters, the historic Zeiss planetarium theater which projects the night sky onto the dome, and the StarRider theater. Take a glimpse through the largest public telescope located in the Doan Observatory right outside the main building - this is a popular place to gather during comets, eclipses, and the first Friday of every month, known as "Far out Fridays."
