This bar is behind Trieste's police headquarters, and is not far away from Piazza della Borsa. It is usually full of professionals who work nearby. The Rex has a small interior, and a large open area in the Galleria Protti. It sells coffees, teas, hot chocolate, aperitifs, drinks, and cocktails prepared by an expert barman. Although it is not a particularly classy place (perhaps it ought to be modernized), it is popular with business people, and consequently it has chosen not to go for a younger clientèle. It is the ideal place for an aperitif before lunch or dinner, or for a coffee break with your work colleagues. It sells various individual or pre-packaged cakes, some of which are very good.
