Palazzo Piccolomini has a fine collection of manuscripts and parchments. In the museum annexe there are Lorenzetti's tablets entitled The Allegory of Good Government. There are also the tablets of Biccherna and Gabella, financial administrations of Siena. These are made of painted wood and were used to cover registers.Photocopies and microfilms can be requested in the Study Room.
