It's still the late 1960s inside the Spy Club! The retro vibe is enhanced by psychedelic wall designs, go-go dancers, and pictures from the Sean Connery Bond films. Think of a hipper version of the set design in the Austin Powers movies and you'll know what to expect. However, the spy theme stops with the decor. Booming house music, expensive covers and even more expensive drinks let you know that you're still safe at home in the 21st century. Spy Club gets some points for making an effort to distinguish itself from all the rest of the nightclubs popping up or closing down across the city, but, sadly, the gimmick doesn't really work. At its heart, Spy Club is just like all the other clubs in New York.
