Known as the most crooked street in the United States, the brick-paved block of Lombard Street with the eight hairpin turns is a long-time tourist favorite. The steep street is located in the Russian Hill neighborhood between Hyde and Leavenworth Streets, giving drivers gorgeous views of the bay and grand Victorian mansions as they wind around the sharp flower-landscaped switchbacks. For another winding, even steeper San Francisco street that’s off the beaten path from the hordes of tourists visiting Lombard, check out Vermont Street between 20th and 22nd Street in the Potrero Hill neighborhood.
