Description

For many of Mérida's residents, specially those who work in the hotels, restaurants and businesses located in the vicinity, this is the most beautiful park in the city. This may not be completely true, but it certainly is a splendid place, named after two famous military figures, and serving the recreational needs of the local citizens. Covering a total area of 11,600 square meters, the park includes one square dedicated to José Antonio Páez, and another in honor of Vicente Campo Elías, both heroes of the War of Independence from the Spanish Crown. Apart from the park's connection with the grand deeds of these two illustrious gentlemen, its design and facilities have made it a favorite place for those who want to relax in pleasant surroundings.
