More information on Birmingham Readers' and Writers' Festival
This festival began in 1983, when it was held in the spring. That first festival was particularly strong on "pints and poems" events with performances by people such as Adrian Mitchell. Live performances by well-known writers and poets are still an important part of this ten-day festival, which more recently moved to the autumn. Various workshops, special events and lectures by writers in various media also take place, held at venues throughout the city. Contact the Festival Office for the latest dates and details.
