40 acres of stunning flora displays, including 5.5 miles of walking trails, make Santa Barbara Botanic Gardens one of the best attractions in Santa Barbara. See collections like the Meadow Section, Redwood Forest, and the Canyon Natural Area, three in a vast variety of breathtaking collections. Plants native to California are emphasized. You may also visit the herbarium, which houses over 140,000 specimens of plants. The Gardens Library has 15,000 books and journals to help you learn just about anything you'd like to know about plants and flowers. Docent-led tours are available, and in-depth signage is placed at each display.
