Founded shortly after the revolution, this Cuban institution promotes Latin American and Caribbean arts and culture. Multidisciplinary in nature, its annual program includes talks, workshops and prizes for literature, as well as painting, photography, musicology and engravings. The galleries in the main building house one of the finest collections of art in the Latin American continent and there are also three separate exhibition spaces and a specialist library.
