This is the only upper-bracket, modern hotel in the Asakusa area, and it looks almost out of place rising 28 stories above this famous district's older buildings. It's a good place to stay if you want to be in Tokyo's old downtown but don't want to sacrifice any creature comforts. The medium-size guest rooms are pleasant, with sleek, contemporary furnishings and bay windows that let in plenty of sunshine (and smaller windows that can be opened, a rarity in Tokyo); rooms facing the front have views over the famous Sensoji Temple. Eight Japanese-style rooms are also available, sleeping up to five people; on the same floor are a small, rooftop Japanese garden and Japanese-style public baths featuring tubs made of 2,000-year-old cypress.
