More information on St Patrick's Church
Consecrated and dedicated on 31 August 1858, St Patrick's replaced the church at Killowen, which had been built in 1811. Serving the Kenmare Church of Ireland community, it has a simple and tasteful interior. Most of the windows are made of clear glass, framed with small stained glass edgings. On the west wall, a star-shaped window is made entirely from stained glass. Hanging in front of one of the long western windows is a separate stained glass depiction of St Patrick. This was made in the Philippines and donated to the church by a German friend. The furnishings are from a collection of other churches, but sit well together. Service is conducted at noon every Sunday.
