First opened for pedestrians and vehicles in 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge is one of the first suspension bridges in the world, and is a famous symbol of New York. Build in the Gothic style of architecture, the bridge is an attraction in itself and was once used by elevated trains, horses and street cars.
