More information on Ludwig II. - Sehnsucht nach dem Paradies
This German-produced musical deals with the life and times of the 'Fairytale King' Ludwig II, who led a magical life until being declared insane and dethroned in the late 19th century. The theatre, which lies within sight of Ludwig's beloved Neuschwanstein Castle, was built especially for the project. Directed by Stephan Barbarino and composed by Franz Hummel, the piece is a unique combination of romantic opera and modern musical.
