More information on National Cherry Blossom Festival
One of the most celebrated and famous events in Washington, DC, this festival pays homage to the incredibly beautiful blossoms on around 3700 Japanese cherry trees circling the Tidal Basin. The trees burst with blossoms for only a couple of weeks in late March and early April, so tourists will want to plan in advance. The city is usually crawling with visitors to catch a glimpse of this extraordinary sight. See their website for a schedule of events, which include a parade, street festival, and many cultural performances.
