Balboa Park is the nation's largest urban cultural park. The 1,200 acre cultural complex has been open for over a century, and draws in over 500,000 visitors a year. The park is home to 15 museums, multiple gardens, a Spanish-style promenade, a replica of Shakespeare's Globe Theater, and the San Diego Zoo. Tourists can spend a day at the museums of Man, Art or Science, visit a botanical, rose or Japanese garden, see a play or listen to a concert at the performing arts centers, or hike, bike or play sports around the area. Everyone is sure to find something they can enjoy here!
