More information on Magevney House

This diminutive wooden house not far from the skyscrapers of downtown Memphis is one of the oldest buildings in the city. It was here that the first Catholic Mass in Memphis was held. Purchased by Irish immigrant Eugene Magevney in 1837, the house today is furnished as it might have been in the 1850s. Among the furniture on display in the house are several pieces that belonged to the Magevneys. Allow 30 minutes.
