More information on St. Louis Cemetery Number Two
Due to the damage caused by Hurricane Katrina, the following description may no longer be accurate. Please consider this when making your travel plans. Second to the original St. Louis Cemetery, number two was built in the 1820's after the population in New Orleans increased as well as the outbreaks of yellow fever. This above-ground addition is located two blocks from Number One, both owned, operated and maintained by the Archdiocese of New Orleans. Tours are recommended, due to the unsafe surrounding neighborhood.
