River Walk
"Visited River Walk"
The newer portion - the north end- is now open. It's not touristy and quite calming to walk. Under each bridge is some sort of art work.

More information on River Walk
Take a peaceful stroll along the beautiful River Walk as two parallel sidewalks, one story down from street level, wind under bridges and through lush greenery along the San Antonio River. Also known as Paseo del Rio, this network of walkways is lined with restaurants, bars, and shops, and connects some major tourist attractions, including Alamo Plaza, Rivercenter, the Arneson River Theatre, Hemisfair Park, and the Tower Life Building. Look for special events throughout the year, such as the FORD Holiday River Parade & Lighting Ceremony, Michelob ULTRA River Walk Mud Festival, Guinness Dyeing O’ the River Green & St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Fall Arts & Crafts Show, and many more. During the annual springtime Fiesta San Antonio, the River Parade features flowery floats that actually float down the river.
