Description

One of the defining features of Waikiki, Diamond Head offers visitors great views and close access to hotels and beaches in the area. The crater was carved out of the eruption of a volcano and has been dormant for thousands of years. The crater measures at over 3,200 feet in diameter with a 760-foot summit. Hiking trails to the top of the rim (one carves through an unlit tunnel) and lead to panoramic views of Waikiki and Koki Head. The weather is often hot, and the hike can take over 2 hours, but most will agree that it is worth the effort.
