More information on Buckingham Fountain

Dedicated to the people of Chicago, Buckingham Fountains is one of the largest fountains in the world, constructed of Georgia pink marble, with a center jet that sprays 150 feet in the air. Located in Grant Park, the fountain was built in 1927 as a memorial to Clarence Buckingham by his sister Kate. The fountain was designed by Edward H. Bennett in representation of Lake Michigan. The four sea horses symbolize the states that surround the lake. Head to the fountain for a water, light and music show that takes place every 20 minutes during summer evenings.
