The entrance to this carefully run 1981-built hotel is through a covered highway section of Ha-Yarkon Street, so you feel as if you are at an airport, though once inside, the place is calm and comfortable. The clientele is a nice mix of business, leisure, and religious travelers. A large marina complex separates the building from the beaches, and although views from many guest rooms take in the sea, the Carlton feels more like a city hotel than most of its upscale neighbors. Guest rooms are insulated from traffic noise and offer dark, modern 1980s decor, balconies, relatively soft beds, and TVs that offer 43 channels. There are dazzling vistas from the small rooftop swimming pool. Note: When reviewed the hotel was undergoing renovations that could alter some of the details here.
