Information on Experience Music Project (EMP)
The Experience Music Project (EMP) is one of the most interesting museums in the United States. Completed in 2000, the Frank Gehry-designed building resembles like a large, twisted guitar sitting in the Seattle Center. Exhibits contain over 80,000 artifacts from musical history, including instruments, lyrics and notes by artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan and Nirvana. There are also music-themes sculptures, a concert poster exhibit, and an interactive sound lab where visitors can get a quick tutorial on how to play their favorite instruments.
