As the heart of Seattle's arts and entertainment district, Seattle Center is one of the best places in the state for tourists to visit. Since its construction during the 1962 World’s Fair, the 74-acre campus has held many of the city's best attractions, including the Space Needle, Experience Music Project, Seattle Arena and the Pacific Science Center. The whole family can join in the fun - kids can enjoy the Children's Museum and Fun Forest Amusement Park (or try running beneath the International Fountain), while adults can check out the Seattle Opera, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and the Sculpture Garden.
