In the family since 1783, Abraham van Velden founded Overgaauw Wine Estate in 1905. Set in the scenic wine-producing region of Stellenbosch, the 130 hectare estate slopes down the hillsides west of Stellenbosch town. The vineyards face south towards False Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. On offer at Overgaauw are both white and red wines including Chardonnay, Sylvaner, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tria-Corda (a blended wine), Pinotage/Cabernet Franc and a limited quantity of vintage port.
