Like most Austrian towns and cities, Innsbruck comes alive during the period leading up to Christmas. The Christmas Markets are the focal points of these celebrations, with two in Innsbruck: one in the Old Town (Herzog-Friedrich-Straße) and one in Landhausplatz Square. There are many events to go along with the good cheer. Wind ensembles perform all kinds of Christmas music from balconies at various locations around Innsbruck.
