Austin's beautiful weather means the city loves to host outdoor events. This annual kite festival is one of the most popular free outdoor fun times for the whole family. More than 200 handmade kites will take flight and anyone can participate. Special categories feature some interesting creations and wonderful competition. Build the smallest, largest, strongest-pulling or the most unusual kite to enter the competition or just watch as they attempt to take flight.
