More information on Figurentheater Köln
Like the well-known Hänneschen Theater in the Altstadt, the Figurentheater Köln is a puppet show theater. It is located in Holweide, rather outside the center of Cologne. Andreas Blaschke is the director, and he's learned his trade from the ground up. He's actively involved in Faszenario, the Cologne association of puppet theaters, and is also a member of an international puppeteer group. Three hundred puppets are on hand to play in the most varied of stories that make up the theater's repertoire. They are also used for films, adverts and exhibits. The stage is more a small living room, with the figures on display as decoration. The program features twelve fairytale for children, for example Pinnochio, Rumplestilstkin by the Brothers Grimm, or 'Oh wie schön ist Panama' by Janosch, but there are also the classic pieces Goethe's Faust or Everyman for more mature audiences.
